PRICE AND DISCOUNTS

Why do we price some of our tours in Euros and still ask you to pay in equivalent Canadian Dollars?

Our suppliers in Europe price all of their products and services in Euros for consistency.
Therefore, we have to pay them in Euros.
To avoid having to regularly re-price our European journeys on a daily basis due to currency exchange rate fluctuations (CAD to EUR), we simply price these journeys in Euros. Therefore, this amount doesn't change from day to day.

We therefore ask our Private Journey guests to pay us with a bank draft or funds transfer in Canadian dollars "equivalent to the Euro amount" on the date of any payment. Just prior to making the payment, we will contact our bank and get you the current CAD/EUR rate.Once we receive your payment, we then convert the Canadian Dollars to Euros and send that to our suppliers in Europe.

Payments Required

Due at time of booking - Deposit - 3000 Euros in equivalent Canadian Dollars on the day of payment.
TrailFinders staff will get the rate from the bank that day.
The Balance of the tour amount (including the tip kitty and all discounts) will be due by July 12, 2027

Note: If you were holding temporary space on this trip without obligation, it is still being held but it will be released as needed as guests submit their booking forms and pay their deposits. So, if you want to keep your space, please don't wait to book.

Price for extra nights, if you wish to arrive prior to the start day of the tour

InterContinental Athenee Palace Hotel - Bucharest including breakfast, VAT and city tax	The pre-tour rates for King Classic room for October 2027 are currently approximately EUR 240 per room per night, however this can change. We can confirm this at actual time of pre-booking.

DETAILS OF INCLUSIONS

What's Included? (and what's not?)

For the entire journey, we include breakfast every day as well as thirteen lunches and six dinners, but we do encourage our guests to try local cafes and restaurants from time to time. Our staff are always available to recommend great finds and our guests certainly enjoy poking about a bit on their own.
We include all enroute transportation, all transfers, all hotels, all guides and drivers and driver's helpers, all group activities, all border costs, all site admission fees and the assistance of our own staff along the way. This approach gives our guests a more carefree experience and reduces the hassle factor considerably.

Meals

Breakfasts: At all our hotels you will wake up to a European breakfast including breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, yogurt, cereals, fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, meats and local dishes.
Selected Lunches and Dinners: There will be a selection of local and Western meals throughout the trip, with an emphasis on local. Some restaurants will be simple and some will be very nice indeed! All included meals are indicated on the detailed trip itinerary. Please see our Summary on Extra Costs (button below) for an estimate of the likely cost of the eleven meals which are not included.

Transportation

We include all transportation whenever the group moves from one place to another. This entire trip includes our comfortable private executive coach.

Transfers

Unlike many other travel companies, we include all airport-hotel transfers including initial arrival in Bucharest and final departure in Dubrovnik.

Private Guide and Driver

We will be accompanied throughout the entire trip by our professional local guide and driver.

Hotel accommodation in all locations

We include a wonderful and varied selection of our favourite hotels along the way. To see details of our hotels, click "Trip Details" on the previous page then "Our Hotels".

Entrance fees for all sites included in the tour.

This tour includes a significant number of historical, cultural and religious sites, each of which charges for admission. If you were to travel through this region on your own, you would be paying significant amounts for each of these items, separately, on the spot, every day. These costs are all included in the tour price.

TrailFinders Documentation

We include a comprehensive Trip Planning Guide which is distributed to our guests about three months prior to departure.
We also provide a pre-departure package containing detailed instructions for your arrival, a comprehensive packing list and more.
Plus we include the full support of the TrailFinders' Tour Leader and a few surprises along the way.

Pre-Paid Extras

Tips for guides, drivers, luggage handlers, restaurant staff and many other helpers will be administered by TrailFinders staff during the journey on behalf of our guests, thereby freeing them from the hassle of finding the appropriate exact funds for specific items on demand. These amounts are pre-collected from our guests at the time of final balance payment.

What's not included?

We do not include the following specific items in the price of our land tour.

• International air between Canada and Europe. We are experts in international airfares and can help you decide which routing, airline, arrival day and time would be best for you. Please call us at 613-789-1900 or 888-765-7662 and we can discuss these and other options with you. If you are arranging your own air transportation, that's perfectly fine, but please check with us first.
• Travel Insurance premiums.
• As on any trip, you will of course be expected to pay on the spot for your own personal expenses such as your preferred drinks, laundry, souvenirs and so on.

International Air Recommendations

We are well aware of all airlines and all routings between Canada and Europe and are available to assist you in determining your best option in economy, premium economy or business class. Even if you are planning to book your own air tickets, please speak with us first and we can discuss your options.
For those of you who are planning to use Aeroplan points to book air seats, we recommend that you do this well in advance of your departure date. Seats are severely limited on each aircraft and they go fast, especially in Business Class. Again, please speak with us first.
